About This Melting Furnace
If you have been struggling with inconsistent melt temperatures or unreliable equipment, the Tooltos 1800W Electric Jewelry Melting Furnace was built to solve that. Designed for jewelers, metalworkers and small casting studios, this furnace combines a powerful 1800W heating element with a PID digital control system to deliver repeatable, accurate results every session.
The ceramic crucible is available in three capacities — 1KG, 2KG and 3KG — making it suitable for a range of batch sizes. The quartz chamber with heat dissipation holes protects the heating element after high-temperature use, helping extend the service life of the furnace.
This furnace is designed for melting copper, aluminum and other non-precious metals. It is not suitable for melting gold, silver or platinum when using the ceramic crucible, as the ceramic material may react with or contaminate precious metal melts.
PID Digital Temperature Control
The advanced PID module monitors the internal furnace temperature every two seconds and adjusts heating output automatically to maintain the target temperature. This prevents overheating and reduces temperature fluctuation during the melting process.
The digital display shows the current temperature in real time, allowing operators to monitor the melt without opening the furnace chamber.
Ceramic Crucible Options
The ceramic crucible is available in three capacity options to match your typical batch size. The crucible design allows easy pouring and filling of the melt.
| Crucible Size | Suitable For |
|---|---|
| 1KG | Small batch melting, jewelry studios, sample casting |
| 2KG | Medium batch production, small workshops |
| 3KG | Larger batch melting, casting studios with higher volume needs |

⚠️ Important Safety Warnings
Heating Element Protection & Usage Cycle
This unit ships with a default temperature setting of 1050°C. We recommend making only minor adjustments from this baseline as needed, and avoiding large increases. Setting the temperature too high accelerates heating element wear and significantly shortens its service life.
Note: This unit has a temperature overshoot characteristic — the actual chamber temperature may run 50–100°C higher than the value shown on the display. Please account for this margin and avoid setting the temperature so high that the actual chamber temperature exceeds safe operating limits, which could damage the heating element and the unit.
Do not run the unit continuously for extended periods. After each casting cycle, power off the machine and allow it to cool completely to room temperature before starting the next cycle. Continuous use causes heat to accumulate inside the chamber, which can damage the heating elements and internal components.
Pro Tips
- Preheat the furnace gradually before placing metal inside to reduce thermal shock to the crucible and extend its service life.
- Do not exceed the crucible's rated capacity. Overfilling can cause spills and damage the heating element.
- Allow the furnace to cool naturally after use. Do not use water or forced air cooling on the ceramic components.
- Inspect the crucible before each use for cracks or chips. A damaged crucible should be replaced before melting.
- Use the included crucible tongs and protective gloves at all times when handling the crucible during and after melting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this furnace to melt gold or silver?
No. The ceramic crucible included with this furnace is not suitable for melting precious metals such as gold, silver or platinum. The ceramic material may react with or contaminate the melt. This furnace is designed for copper, aluminum and other non-precious metals.
What is the maximum temperature this furnace can reach?
The maximum operating temperature is 1050°C (1922°F). The PID control system maintains temperature within plus or minus 5°C of the set point.
How long does it take to melt metal?
Typical melting time is 20 to 40 minutes depending on the metal type, batch size and starting temperature of the material.
Which crucible size should I choose?
Choose based on your typical batch size. The 1KG crucible suits small jewelry studios and sample casting. The 2KG is suitable for medium workshop production. The 3KG is for larger batch casting needs.
Is this furnace suitable for beginners?
Yes. The complete kit includes all necessary accessories and the digital PID control makes temperature management straightforward. Always follow the included safety instructions and use the provided protective gloves.
