Keep the motor away from water, polishing debris and loose clothing. Provide task lighting, workholding and an accessible pedal. Never lift or reposition the motor by its shaft.

Direction control can help with compatible accessories and processes, but does not replace correct use. Stop the motor before changing direction and follow the accessory maker's speed and direction guidance.
